Javier Arístegui: one of two Spaniards involved in the drawing up of UN SROCC
As a member of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, IOCAG researcher, Javier Arístegui, has been actively involved in the Special Report on the Ocean and Cryosphere in a Changing Climate (SROCC) which was presented last week in Madrid. The report indicates that if current trends in temperature increases were to continue, sea levels could rise by more than a metre by the year 2100, potentially leading to the displacement of thousands of people.
More details on the report and Arístegui's work can be read on the ULPGC website.
