QUIMA records first images of the waters affected by the lava of the volcano of La Palma
QUIMA research group has recorded the first submarine images of the lava delta in the island of La Palma with the assistance of the Canary enterprise ECOS. These images are at disposal of the PEVOLCA (Canary plan volcano emergencies) so that the experts in geology and vulcanology can use them for a better management of the volcanic crisis. The footage can help to understand the impacts and the evolution of flow when it has reached the sea.
QUIMA has been measuring since the beginning the parameters of carbone dioxide and other chemical and physical parameters of the zone, apart from collecting samples for the biogeochemistry of the Fe.
