The submarine vulcano at El Hierro helps to improve remote sensing algorithms
The information received from the satellites on the amount of chlorophyll and turbidity in the sea after the eruption of the underwater volcano of El Hierro did not match the actual in situ data collected by research vessels. The models have been corrected by researchers at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which have processed for the first time very high resolution images of such natural phenomena captured from space.
