Beach-dune interaction and evolution
Beach-dune interaction is a key aspect in present situation, in which sea level is rising in most areas, so that run-up determination and risk of inundation is obtained from wave and sea level data. Long term (decadal scale) coastal evolution is measured from georreferenced aerial photographs and satellite imagery. It includes determination of variables such as shoreline advance/retreat, coastal erosion and dune migration rates.
