Inés Hernández García (Ph.D. Student): "Spatio-temporal variability from large to mesoscale oceanographic features off Northwest Africa by numerical modelling validated with in-situ observations"

The North Atlantic Ocean is characterized by the interaction of different structures at various spatial-temporal scales. This interaction is well described using in situ observations. However, the limitation in sampling techniques does not allow to study smaller scales, in order to gain knowledge about these structures. We consider that numerical modeling is a part of the solution to this limitation. The main focus of this thesis is to develop a numerical modelling tool to represent the main oceanographic characteristics of the Atlantic Ocean at the North African coast.
