Argimiro Rivero Rosales
Born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Dr. Rivero-Rosales graduated in Pharmacy from the University of Navarra in 1992 and obtained his Doctorate in Pharmacy from the same university in 1998 with the thesis entitled "Design, synthesis, and preliminary biological evaluation of new organic compounds as potential agents for the treatment of obesity." The results of this thesis led to two international patents.
From 1992 to 1998, he carried out teaching duties as an assistant professor at the University of Navarra, in addition to being a researcher at the Scientific and Technological Institute of Navarra. Subsequently, in 1999, he developed research projects as a specialist in Chemistry at the Technological Institute of the Canary Islands, involving the study of natural compounds and the cultivation of microalgae.
Since 2000, he has been a professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, holding the position of Associate Professor since 2003. He has participated in various international, national, and regional research projects related to organic compounds of interest to the pharmaceutical industry, the extraction of natural products, and the analysis of molecular contents of macro and microalgae.
