I have a Ph.D. in geography and spatial planning from the University of Toulouse-Le Mirail (France). Professor of Physical Geography, attached to the Department of Geography at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where I teach subjects related to Physical Geography, landscape studies, spatial planning, and natural and cultural heritage, both undergraduate and postgraduate and doctoral.

I am part of the research group “Geografía, Medio Ambiente y Tecnologías de la información geografía”, integrated in the Instituto de Oceanografía y Cambio Global (IOCAG) . mong my lines of research is the analysis of environmental changes (plant recolonization, erosive dynamics, land cover, and landscape changes) induced by anthropogenic transformations, both in mountain areas of the Iberian Peninsula, as well as in the summit and midlands of Gran Canaria, and in coastal areas of the Canary Archipelago. My last works are focused on the analysis of the alterations that tourist development has generated in the coastal dune systems of the Canary Islands, carrying out studies in Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and La Graciosa.

My second line of research is dedicated to the evaluation of the potential of the physical environment and the environmental assessment of land management plans and instruments.

I have collaborated as a consultant for different organizations and entities, among which my participation as scientific co-director of the exhibition "Water for Life", organized by the company EXPOAGUA ZARAGOZA 2008 (International Exhibition) stands out. I have also been scientific director of educational projects, aimed at the dissemination of geographic culture, and carried out in collaboration with the Association of Spanish Geographers, and the National Geographic Institute (Ministry of Development).

Recently I have initiated a line oriented to the dissemination of natural and cultural heritage among groups with functional diversity (visually impaired, reduced mobility, etc.).
